IPAF PAL Plus 3A+ & 3B+

The course covers both theory and practical, aiming to increase the operator’s ability at a practical level and help them gain a more in-depth understanding of why accidents happen and how they can be prevented. The theory session, at the beginning of the day, is compact and includes accident analysis, MEWP categories and selection, operator daily inspection, safe operating awareness and hazard awareness. On a more practical note there is additional emphasis on the practical training, with more challenging practical exercises

Course Duration: 1 day

Contents:

The IPAF PAL Plus course covers

Operators are assessed under clear topics and include the following:

  • Travel (checking the ground route, how to drive and move the MEWP, steering and position, how to travel through restricted areas and space, continual observation)
  • Working at height (correct positioning of MEWP, using spreader plates, manoeuvring in a confined overhead space)

Operators looking for more advanced and extensive training can opt to take the one-day PAL+ course. PAL+ is an additional one day of category-specific training aimed at operators working in higher risk or challenging environments. PAL+ training is available to operators who hold an existing PAL card qualification in the relevant category.
