Manual Handling , Fire Marshal & Work at Height

Manual Handling: The aim is for delegates to be able to lift and handle loads in a safe and efficient manner, reduce the risk of injury and conform to the 1992 EEC Legislation. This course meets the statutory requirements of the Health & Safety Executive.

Fire Marshal: This course is aimed at 'competent persons' within the workforce and aims to raise awareness of company procedures and to identify the correct use and limitations of fire extinguishers.

Working at Height: This course helps you to comply with the Work at Height Regulations 2005 by providing employers and employees with the necessary information needed to be able to successfully deal with working at height risks and control measures. This includes an understanding of how to undertake a working at height risk assessment, how to use access equipment safely and how to ensure that employees can reduce their risk of falls

Manual Handling

  • Show how it is possible to keep body stress to minimum in a number of given handling activities.
  • Identify immediate and cumulative effects of strain and sprain injuries
  • Practical exercises on correct lifting techniques, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, and Twisting
  • Repetitive strain injuries, use of hand mechanics
  • Group Lifting
  • Adopting a positive attitude towards safe systems of work

  • Fire Legislation
  • The basic chemistry of fire and it's different classes
  • Fire fighting equipment
  • Causes of fire and their prevention
  • Emergency Lighting
  • Evacuation assembly point and fire drills
  • Fire alarms
  • Fire hazards
  • Routine fire safety inspections and maintaining a fire log
  • Risk assessment awareness
  • Extinguisher recognition and their use

Work at Height
